Actor and television personality Archana Puran Singh recently shared a disappointing experience from her family vacation in Dubai, revealing that she fell prey to an online ticketing scam. In a vlog posted on her YouTube channel, she recounted how their exciting plans for indoor skydiving at iFly Dubai were derailed by a fraudulent booking.
Accompanied by her husband, actor-filmmaker Parmeet Sethi and their sons Aaryamann and Ayushmaan, Archana had booked tickets for what was meant to be a thrilling skydiving session. However, the mood quickly shifted when the family arrived at the venue and was informed that there was no reservation under their name. Archana, clearly disheartened, explained in the video that they had purchased three slots through what turned out to be a fake website. She lamented the unexpected scam, adding that the tickets were quite expensive and the entire incident came as a shock, especially considering Dubai’s strict regulations.
Expressing his disbelief, Parmeet Sethi commented that thousands of rupees had been lost and questioned whether even their current efforts to resolve the situation might be a scam themselves. His remark, though made partly in jest, reflected the frustration they felt in that moment.
Their son Aaryamann also shared his thoughts in the vlog, admitting that he had a moment of doubt during the booking process. He noticed that the ride duration initially showed four minutes but after redirection, it changed to two minutes. Despite the inconsistency, he didn’t think such a scam could occur through what appeared to be a legitimate site.
Archana, who remains a familiar face on The Great Indian Kapil Show, was last seen portraying Mrs. Braganza Malhotra in the comedy series Nadaaniyaan. The incident served as a sobering reminder of the growing prevalence of online scams even in destinations known for their stringent legal frameworks.
