The question of whether Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are heading for divorce has been the centre of attention ever since reports claimed that Sunita filed a petition against the actor. According to these reports, the petition cited adultery, cruelty and desertion under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955. Filed in December 2024 at the Bandra Family Court, the petition also alleged that Govinda had skipped multiple hearings and failed to attend counselling sessions, while Sunita was present at each one.
Amid these claims, Govinda’s lawyer Lalit Bindra has stepped forward to clear the air. In a recent interaction with a news channel, he insisted that there was no case currently in progress and disputed matters between the couple have been resolved. He suggested that people were unnecessarily digging up old issues, giving rise to renewed speculation. Sources close to the family also shared that the couple would be seen celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi together, pointing to signs of reconciliation.
This is not the first time the couple has been at the centre of such rumours. Earlier in February, several reports suggested that Govinda and Sunita had decided to separate due to frequent disagreements and lifestyle differences. Some stories even claimed that Govinda’s closeness with a younger Marathi actress was contributing to the tension. However, these reports were quickly followed by clarifications from their legal representative, who emphasised that while the couple may have briefly considered divorce, they had since worked things out and remained strong.
The couple’s lawyer, who is also a close family friend, described them as going strong and reassured that they would continue to be together despite rumours. Govinda himself appeared unbothered when recently spotted in public, greeting fans with his usual charm and blowing kisses. Their daughter Tina Ahuja also maintained a composed stance, posting on social media that she was away in Punjab for work, while their son Yashvardhan Ahuja shared that he had recently performed a pooja at home.
Together, these appearances and statements suggest that the family is focusing on unity rather than division. While rumours continue to swirl, the public face of Govinda, Sunita and their children tells a story of resilience and togetherness in the midst of constant scrutiny.
