The senior actress Asha Parekh is certainly one of the finest actresses whom we have seen on big screen and recently she appeared in Arbaaz Khan’s podcast, “The Invincibles” in which she shed light on many matters related to her acting days.
Asha Parekh started her career as a child artist in movie, “Maa” which released in the year 1952 and then she made her debut in lead role in “Dil Deke Dekho” (1959) in which she acted with the late actor Shammi Kapoor. The movie was a hit and both Asha and Shammi worked in some more movies such as “Pagla Kahin Ka”, “Teesri Manzil”, etc.
During the podcast, Asha Parekh revealed that once Shammi Kapoor played a prank on everyone by lying that he and Asha Parekh are married and this made his girlfriend very upset.
When asked about the same, Asha said, “This is a long story. We were shooting in Mahabaleshwar and I don’t know what Om Prakash ji thought when he said, ‘These two are married’. Then there was a party at Mr. Nasir Hussain’s place. Everyone was talking and everybody started whispering, ‘They are married’. Devyani ji (renowned journalist) was also there. She heard it. She asked, ‘You are married?’ I did not know this was happening.”
Asha Parekh further said, “Shammi ji asked me not to say anything. I told him okay. He was playing a prank. My father left. Everyone saw that and asked why I had left. He then said that my mother was in shock and so I went home. That time he (Shammi Kapoor) was having an affair with somebody. That person got very upset.”

Asha Parekh also worked as a producer and director and she has produced some TV shows in Gujarati and Hindi languages. She didn’t get married and in 2017, she released her autobiography, The Hit Girl and presently she is focusing on her dance academy.
As far as Shammi Kapoor is concerned, he passed away in 2011 but one thing is for sure that he was a very lively person otherwise who would not have dared to play such a prank on everyone.
