Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up to portray Lord Ram in the much-anticipated film Ramayana but some fans think another actor would have been a better fit. Many netizens are of the opinion that Ashutosh Rana would have made a perfect Lord Ram. Despite all the buzz, the veteran actor doesn’t seem fazed by the comparisons.
When asked about the fan support, Ashutosh Rana responded with calm and wisdom. He says that he believes everything in life happens at the right time and that every role reaches the right person. He also mentions that he is completely content with the role he has been given in the film.
Interestingly, not many are aware that Ashutosh Rana was initially considered to play Lord Ram. In a recent interview, the actor has reflected on destiny and patience. He explains that he believes whatever is meant for someone will naturally come to them and one only needs to wait patiently in the right way. In his words, life is like a play and in the play titled Ram Naam, he sees himself portraying the character of Raavan.
He adds that people often think more about their enemies than their friends and whoever they constantly think about, they tend to become like them. According to him, if someone is playing Lord Ram and constantly thinking about themselves, that would go against the very essence of Ram’s selfless nature. It’s that very quality, he believes, that makes Ram who He is.
Ramayana is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made, with a massive budget of Rs 1600 crore. The film will be released in two parts, with the first scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali. Sai Pallavi plays Goddess Sita, Lara Dutta is playing the part of Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman and Sheeba Chaddha plays Manthara. KGF star Yash takes on the role of Raavan while also contributing as a co-producer.
Even though Ashutosh Rana is not playing Lord Ram, his thoughtful response and grounded approach have only won him more admiration from fans.
