Ashwin Has A Hilarious Take On Dhoni’s Bat Speed Secret, “He Was Seen Only Driving Tractors”

MS Dhoni, the skipper of Chennai Super Kings, may be 41 yrs old but it seems as if his increasing age is not affecting his cricketing talent in any manner. In the match against Rajasthan Royals which was played on 12 April 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, MS Dhoni played a smashing knock of 32 runs for which he faced only 17 deliveries and his innings included 1 four and 3 sixes.

Though CSK lost the match, RR spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who has played a lot of cricket with MS Dhoni was quite surprised as he believed that Dhoni’s bat speed should have slowed down with age and also because he hasn’t been playing international cricket since 2019 but in reality, this was not the case.

During an interaction, R Ashwin joked that driving tractors may have been the reason behind Dhoni’s bat speed. He further said that he was left awestruck watching MS Dhoni bat, adding that he has been watching MS Dhoni bat for last two years and over two years as well and with age, hand speed should reduce and the bat speed should also come down but it is not happening in Dhoni’s case.

Ashwin went on to say that he was surprised as Dhoni was seen driving tractors away from the IPL but here he was hitting sixes at his will so the Indian spinner decided to ask MS Dhoni as to what he did for his bat speed and the CSK skipper told Ashwin that he started practicing in January.

MS Dhoni has been batting pretty well in the IPL 2023 as in the last four matches, he has smashed 6 sixes and is batting at a strike rate of 214.81.

Though there are rumours of MS Dhoni retiring after the IPL 2023, Ravichandran Ashwin thinks otherwise as he says that MS Dhoni has come stronger because of doing agriculture and driving tractors and his biceps are also looking strong. Ashwin feels that Dhoni can easily play next 3-4 IPLs and jokingly he says may be next 7-8 IPLs as well.

MS Dhoni is one of the best finishers of all times and he will certainly like to finish his IPL career with a trophy, what do you say?
