The actor Gurucharan Singh who became a household name after playing the character of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the TV serial, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is currently looking for work as he said in an interview that he wants to work and repay all his debts and loans.
Gurucharan Singh shocked everyone when he went missing for 26 days and after returning, he revealed that he went on a spiritual journey as he visited the gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana. He added that he returned when he felt that it was the time to come back and he didn’t do anything for publicity.
On 16 July, Gurucharan Singh met the producer of TMKOC, Asit Kumarr Modi in his office in Mumbai and this led to speculations that Gurucharan may return to the show. When Gurucharan Singh was asked about his meeting, he said that when he went missing, Asit Kumarr Modi tried to contact him and now after returning, he is meeting everyone who showed concern and tried to get in touch with him. He also added that it was important for him to meet Asit Modi as he played an important role in his career.
When Asit Kumarr Modi was asked about his meeting with Gurucharan, he said that Gurucharan is just like family for him and even after leaving the show due to personal reasons, he used to come and meet him whenever he visited Mumbai.
Asit Modi further said that he was a little worried because of what Gurucharan Singh did some time back and he messaged him at that time. The producer further said that Gurucharan visited his office, they both had heart-to-heart conversation and he offered his best wishes to Singh for future.
However, there are some reports which suggest that Gurucharan Singh asked Asit Kumarr Modi to take him back in the show as new Roshan Singh Sodhi is not performing well and the audience is not liking him. When Asit Modi refused to do so, Gurucharan asked him to have a word with mediapersons but Modi refused to do that as well.
Asit Kumarr Modi is quite firm on his stance that Gurucharan Singh won’t return in the show. Gurucharan is the founder member of the show, first he left the show in 2013 but due to high public demand he made a comeback next year. Gurucharan Singh once again left the show in 2020 and since then, Balwinder Singh Suri has been playing the character of Roshan Singh Sodhi in TMKOC.
