The Indian cricket team has done something which nobody expected, defeating the Australians in a test match at Gabba, Brisbane, where they were invincible for nearly 32 years. While the Indian cricket fans were overwhelmed with their team’s match and series win, the Australian fans were highly disappointed and aggravated with the manner in which their team performed. This series will always be memorable for the Indians as their determination, courage and fighting spirit helped them in standing against the powerful Australian team and made something which appeared to be impossible possible.
How unhappy the Australian fans were can be understood by a simple instance in which an Australian fan dressed in the Australian jersey was seen chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” at the top of his voice and the Indian public joined him in hailing their country.

As far as the match is concerned, the Indians had to fulfill the difficult task of scoring 324 runs on the last day in order to win the test match as well as the series. The Indian opener Rohit Sharma departed early while Shubman Gill stayed there and batted beautifully but he missed his century by 9 runs.
On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara once again proved that he is a rock between the Aussies and their win, he played a patient innings of 56 for which he played 211 balls. What made his innings special is the fact that he was hit by the Australian bowlers at least 10 times during this knock but they couldn’t break his spirit. Rishabh Pant ensured that he took his team home as a winner as he scored 89 runs and remained not out till the end. India won the match by 3 wickets with 18 balls remaining in the match.
We are quite sure that the Australian fans must have had a pretty hard time seeing their side losing the match and that too on their land.
