A number of people lose hope, courage and power to fight the circumstances when life gets tough but there are some who make lemonade when life gives them lemons.
Shrikant Pantawane is one of those few people who know how to deal with difficulties of life. He hails from Nagpur and his father was a security guard. Due to the weak financial condition of the family, Shrikant started working as a delivery boy very early and later on, he started driving an auto. It was not easy for him to study, work and support his family but there was nothing in this world which could deter him from fulfilling his dream.
And presently, Shrikant is flying high in the sky as he is a pilot now. Unbelievable but true!
He once visited an airport for delivering a parcel; there he talked to some cadets and came to know that even if he was not inducted in Indian Air Force, he could become a pilot. The tea-vendor outside the airport told Shrikant about DGCA’s pilot scholarship program and then there was nothing which could stop Shrikant.
The man took out his 12th standard books and prepared for the scholarship. After passing 12th standard, he took admission in a flight school in MP but found it very difficult, as he was not good in English. Still he worked very hard and his friends also helped him in passing the examination and eventually, he got his commercial pilot license.
However, recession made it difficult for him to get a pilot’s job but he needed to support his family so he joined as an executive in an organization. However, he was not quite happy with this make-shift arrangement, as he dreamed of flying high in the sky and his dream was on the way to get fulfilled when he got a call from Indigo Airlines, 2 months back.
