While speaking in a peace meeting in Rohtak last year, when the Jats were organizing protests for reservation, Baba said that he would “behead lakhs of people refusing to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai if he weren’t bound by the law”.

Just to inform, he made this comment in response to Asaduddin Owaisi’s remark. Owaisi stated that he would not chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai “even if a knife is put to his throat”.

Because of this comment, a complaint was filed against Baba Ramdev by Subhash Batra, the former minister of Haryana and Congress party leader. Yoga guru was asked to be present in the court on June 14 in addition to paying Rs 1 lakh personal surety.

Baba was supposed to attend the court hearing but as he didn’t appear on the last two occasions, a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against him by ACJM Harish Goyal’s court. What’s more, the next hearing will take place on 3rd August. Complainant’s lawyer said,

“The order follows Ramdev’s failure to appear before the court yet again Wednesday. He also failed to appear despite summons and a bailable warrant.”

He had been summoned under IPC Sections 504 and 506 for ‘intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace’ and ‘punishment for criminal intimidation’, respectively.
