With the US Presidential Election 2016, the whole world was shocked. Donald Trump managed to win the elections and was declared the next President of America. Since the start, Trump’s views on immigration had been very controversial and people were quite curious about what immigration policies he would implement in the future.
Well, the nightmare has turned out to be true and Donald has just announced that H-1B visa holders won’t be able to replace US workers.

Usually, workers from India come on H-1B visas, through which they are granted permission to work temporarily in US, in specialist roles. A lawsuit has been filed for the same and if verdict is passed, companies won’t be able to issue temporary work visas in near future.
Companies such as Disney World and others have been roping in people on these H-1B visas, including Indians.
On Thursday, when Trump was addressing a campaign in Iowa, he said “We will fight to protect every last American life.”
He further said
“During the campaign I also spent time with American workers who were laid off and forced to train. The foreign workers brought in to replace them. We won’t let this happen anymore. Can you believe that? You get laid off and then they won’t give you your severance pay unless you train the people that are replacing you. I mean, that’s actually demeaning maybe more than anything else.”

2 employees, Leo Perrero and Dena Moore from Disney World and other outsourcing firm slapped a lawsuit against the companies and alleged that they had conspired to displace American workers so as to get some cheap foreign labor on H-1B visas.
Currently, the capacity of H-1B visa is around 65,000 out of which 25,000-35,000 are issued to Indian nationals, If these norms are tightened, Indian IT companies would be negatively hampered.
Best of luck to all those who are working in the US on H-1B visas; so what’s your opinion on this? Do share in our comments section below!
