Bad Umpiring Leads India To Defeat

After being two down at the end of tea, India surprisingly lost the 1st test by 48 runs. There were many reasons for this defeat including Brilliant performance by Nathan Lyon, mischievous batting by India’s middle and lower order and poor umpiring.umpiring

There were many instances of poor umpiring in the match, and this was one of the major reason why India lost the match.

1. Shikhar Dhawan was declared out in a wrong way.
Rayan Harris bowled a bouncer which touched Shikhar’s shoulder instead of his bat/gloves. Both the bowler and the keeper appealed in a very slow voice. But still the umpire thought that the ball touched his gloves and declared Shikhar out.

2. Ajinkya Rahane was declared out on 0 due to poor decision of umpire.
Nathan Lyon’s ball turned and hit the pad of Ajinkya but the bowler appealed for a bat and pad. The umpire immediately raised his finger and Ajinkya was unluckily forced to move back to the pavilion. Even in the replay, it was clearly seen that there was a large gap between bat and bowl.

So, what will you say about this India’s defeat?? Was it all mistake of umpiring or anyone else??
