The BCCI men’s team selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has announced the squads for the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024, set to begin on September 12 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The players selected for India’s first Test against Bangladesh will not participate in this round. This includes Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Axar Patel among others.
Key Changes in India A Squad:
Pratham Singh (Railways) will replace Shubman Gill.
Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA) comes in for KL Rahul.
SK Rasheed (Andhra) replaces Dhruv Jurel as the wicketkeeper.
Shams Mulani (Left-arm Spinner) replaces Kuldeep Yadav.
Aaqib Khan (UPCA) takes Akashdeep’s spot.
Mayank Agarwal has been named captain of India A.
Other Replacements
Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku Singh replace Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, respectively.
Sarfaraz Khan will still feature in the second round.
Nishant Sindhu (Haryana CA) replaces Axar Patel in India D.
Vidwath Kaverappa from India A will step in for Tushar Deshpande, who is ruled out due to a niggle.
Unchanged Squad
The India C squad remains unchanged for the second round.
