BCCI Selects Teams For NZ & Australia Series, Fans Go Berserk For Not Picking Virat Kohli & Rohit

The Indian cricket team is currently playing the 3^rd and the final ODI of the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka which is being played at Greenfield International Stadium, Trivandrum. While the Indian team has already taken an unassailable lead of 2-0, the visitors will certainly try to save some respect by winning the final ODI. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also announced the Indian squad for 3-match T20 series and 3-match ODI series against New Zealand and for the first two test matches against Australia.

While the young Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw has been included in the Indian squad (T20I) after a long time, the senior cricketers Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are missing from the T20I team. Prithvi Shaw has been included in the T20I squad for playing against New Zealand but he hasn’t been included in the test matches against Australia.

Suryakumar Yadav’s wish of representing the country in the test matches is going to get fulfilled as he has been included in the Indian squad for two test matches against Australia and Ishan Kishan has also got his maiden test call. KS Bharat too has been included in the ODI squad for New Zealand series as well as in the test squad for playing against Australia.

While KL Rahul and Axar Patel will be missing both the T20I and ODI series against New Zealand due to their personal commitments, the selectors have made it clear that they are not considering Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for T20Is, at least for now, and their focus is on making a young team.

Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t been included in any of the teams because the selectors are in no mood to rush him considering the fact that we have the ICC ODI World Cup this year. Though Ravindra Jadeja has been included in the test squad for the first two test matches against Australia, his inclusion in the team would be subject to fitness assessment and it seems that Sanju Samson is still injured because he has not been included in any of the squad either.

Many cricket fans were unhappy with the team selection as in their opinion, India won’t be able to win the T20I World Cup without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. There were some who were not pleased with Sarfaraz Khan being ignored by the selectors and some also asked the board to give an update regarding Sanju Samson.
