This Is The Best INDIAN State For Working Women! You’ll Be Ashamed To See Delhi’s Position!

A study conducted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), which is an apex think tank American entity, and Nathan Associates, concluded that Delhi has worst working conditions for women. On the other hand, they gave a whopping 40 points to Sikkim for providing the best working environment for its women. The capital city scored 8.5 points, which is shameful.

Factors that are considered

The factors that determined the study were legal restrictions imposed on women’s working hours in factories, retail, and the IT sector, responses to the criminal justice system, crimes related to working women like eve-teasing and sexual harassment, the percentage of working women, and the policies and incentives offered by states for their women entrepreneurs.

According to the study, the North-Eastern state of Sikkim topped the list because of the high percentage of working women, less restriction on the working hours, and quick responses when it comes to giving the justice for crimes against working women.

Other States’ ranking

After Sikkim, it’s Telangana (28.5 points) which is followed by Pondicherry (25.6), Karnataka (24.7), Himachal Pradesh (24.2), Andhra Pradesh (24.0), Kerala (22.2), Maharashtra (21.4), Tamil Nadu (21.1) and Chhattisgarh (21.1).

The female population in India is roughly around 48%, out of which the workforce constitutes only 24 %, which is lowest in the world.

A less popular state like Sikkim provides a better working environment to the ladies, whereas the capital city is incapable of doing the same. Tell us what do you think about this scenario in the comments section below.
