We Bet You Failed To Notice These 7 Mistakes In “M.S Dhoni-The Untold Story”

The most awaited biopic of the year, M.S DHONI – The Untold Story is released and is undoubtedly running successfully at the box-office. Sushant Singh Rajput has done complete justice to the role with his stupendous performance. However when we focus on the story of this biopic, it has some stunning facts that have been missed, rather wrongly presented in the movie.

The flick definitely stands to be ‘The Untold Story’ of M.S. Dhoni with not just one or two but seven illogical errors. These scenes do not match to the true events of his life. While we’re lost in the extended screenplay of the film, most of us tend to overlook these mistakes. Here are the facts that differ from the story-line of the film, you’ll be shocked to know the true events:

1. Dhoni’s brother Narendra Singh Dhoni missing in the biopic:

Those who know of Mahi’s brother Narendra Singh Dhoni, will be disappointed to know that his character has been eliminated from Dhoni’s biopic. Wonder what made the director neglect such an important character of his life. In the movie Dhoni’s family includes, only is his father, mother and sister Jayanti Gupta. Now that’s not fair, is it? How can an existing family member not be a part of his biopic? Don’t you agree?

2. Dhoni and Priyanka’s first meeting:

According to the movie Dhoni and Priyanka happened to meet for the first time on a flight. When team India was travelling for their match in Vishakapatnam on 5th April 2005. Dhoni had scored only 3 runs in the India V/s Pakistan match in Kochi ealier. But the fact of the matter is that, Dhoni met Priyanka in the year 2002 when he was in his 20s. That’s when they both fell in love with each other. This definitely doesn’t match to what the so called ‘biopic’ showed.

3. Scripted endorsements for promotional purposes:

In the flick we see some of the brand endorsements done by Mahi in his years of growth. Among those endorsements were the TVCs shot for Sanjay Ghodawat Institute and Finolex Pipes. For those who don’t know, Dhoni has never been the brand ambassador for either of the two in his real life. This means the sequence has been scripted as a promotional advertisement for the movie sponsors. By now we all know how much of the movie is truly a biopic, am I right?

4. Misplacement of Mahi’s LAVA brand endorsement:

Dhoni has surely been the face of many leading brands like Pepsico, Reebok, TVS Motors etc. Talking about the biopic, Dhoni (Sushant) is shown promoting LAVA smart phones back in 2008, whereas LAVA mobiles were launched in the year 2009. No doubt, it is a fact that Mahi is the brand ambassador of the same but the question is since when? The answer to that is, Lava announced the Indian national ODI and T20 cricket team captain M. S. Dhoni as their brand ambassador on 14th April, 2016. That’s right, it was earlier this year which is wrongly placed in the movie.

5. Did fishes actually cost ₹90/kg during the 90s?

In one of the scenes there is Rajesh Sharma (Dhoni’s coach) shopping along with his wife where they’re busy bargaining the rate of fish that was said to be ₹90/kg. Really? Is that a mistake? What was the rate of fish back then, any idea? Let us help you with this one, the cost of fishes could be round about ₹15 to ₹20/kg. Yes, that’s right. Though the shopkeeper may quote a price of ₹30 or ₹40 even, they’re expected to bargain at ₹20/kg and not ₹50/kg. The makers should have kept this logic in mind while scripting the scene, don’t you agree?

6. Dhoni and Sakshi’s first meeting:

Now comes Dhoni’s first meeting with wife Sakshi, as per the untold story their first interaction was at the reception of Taj Bengal. Whereas, in reality Dhoni and Sakshi were childhood friends, since both their fathers used to work together for MECON. They also went to the same school at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi. The two were introduced by Yudhajit Dutta in 2008 while Sakshi was interning at the hotel. It was like a reunion when both of them met after a gap 10 long years. This one’s yet again a scripted sequence that’s nowhere close to reality.

7. Dhoni’s invisible helmet

The most awaited sequence in the biopic is Mahi’s batting at Wankhede stadium. However, there was a funny instance we all must have not noticed. While we had all eyes on Sushant entering the field wearing his cap, Murlidharan is the bowler, however when Dhoni (Sushant) hits the ball there’s a helmet that appears on his head out of nowhere. Did you realize it while watching the movie? Or were you as much lost in the intensity of the scene? I am sure you’re going to watch it again to confirm this one, isn’t it?

This was hilarious! Don’t you agree?

How many of you noticed these factual and funny mistakes in Dhoni’s biopoc? I am sure most of us din’t know of these details, isn’t it? However, everything said and done all of loved the amazing biopic, am I right guys? Tell us how did you like this informative post in the comments section below.
