A few days ago, there was a report in the media and social networking sites promoting a news that IIT-BHU was planning to introduce “Adarsh Bahu Course” to teach how to become a perfect and ideal daughter-in-law, but later the Institute claimed that it was rubbish information. Well Now we get another media claim that Bhopal’s Barkatullah University is soon going to introduce an “Adarsh Bahu” 3 months certification course, so that girls can become ideal bahu
According to the Vice Chancellor Prof DC Gupta
“As a university, we have a few responsibilities towards society, as well. We should not be limited to academics alone. Our objective is to prepare such brides who will keep families intact. It is a part of women empowerment.”
Vice Chancellor further added
“We will include various related topics from sociology, psychology and such. Our aim is that after completing the course, girls should be in a better position to understand the dynamics of families. It is our effort to bring about a positive change in society.”
While some head of the department thought this is a great idea and some of them even don’t know about this kind of course
But we think this Adarsh bahu course is the most ridiculous idea, like C’mon people, we are living in the generation where we are talking about equality of both genders, where girls are free do anything.If you want to teach girls about “Adarsh Bahu” things than how about training the men too?
