One more girl has made India proud by clinching the title of “Miss World”. Well, she’s not sleek and slender, but is full of power. We are talking about Bhumika Sharma, a girl from Dehradun, who has become “Miss World” in the World Bodybuilding Championship that was held in Venice.

What has made us all the more proud is that she’s just 21 years old; at such a young age, Bhumika has managed to show off her muscles. She stood ahead in all the 3 rounds i.e. individual posing, fall as well as body posing.

Hansa Manral Sharma, her mom, was the head coach of the weightlifting team (Women) of India. Earlier, Bhumika had the dream of excelling in shooting, but 3 years back, she met an inspiring bodybuilding coach Bhupendra Sharma, at a shooting event. This is when Bhumika’s life took a new turn.

Once Bhumika entered bodybuilding, she started winning medals on a regular basis. After winning the Miss World title, she says,

“The Indian squad had 27 members. I was the lone woman bodybuilder. I gained enough points in all the three rounds and made the country proud.”

Initially, her parents weren’t convinced with the idea of bodybuilding, but later on after a lot of persuasion, they gave her a green signal. She does rigorous workout for 7 hours daily.

After winning Miss World, Bhumika aims to win “Miss Universe” now. It will be organized by NABBA i.e. National Amateur Body-Builders Association of UK in December and around 60 countries will be participating in it.
