Many political leaders of opposition have alleged that some of the BJP leaders were quite aware of the demonetization decision, even before it was announced by the PM, which helped them in making use of their black money; however, the top brass of BJP has continuously denied it.
On Friday, the JD-U and RJD demanded an enquiry into the matter of purchase of lands, value of which goes in crores, by the BJP in some districts of Bihar.
These deals were finalized few weeks before the demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes took place. The land agreements were made in the name of BJP legislators Lal Babu Prasad, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal and Sanjeev Chaurasia.
Sanjeev accepted that these land deals have been done on the instructions of central leadership for building party offices in those districts; however, the senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has denied any conspiracy and stated that all the land deals have been made in a transparent manner.
JD-U wants a joint parliamentary committee to inquire into the matter and find out whether these land deals involve black money or not. Sanjay Singh and Neeraj Kumar, spokespersons of JD-U told reporters,
“On perusal of the papers related to the land registry, it is apparent that the plots were purchased at the directive of top BJP functionaries.”
They further added that BJP purchased land in Lakhisarai district on Sept 6, on Sept 14 in Madhubani and Madhepura, in Katihar on Sept 16 while on Sept 19, they purchased land in Kishanganj and Arwal and the amount spent on purchasing these lands is Rs. 4.7 crore.
