The famous movie producer Boney Kapoor opened up about his personal and professional lives in an interview which he gave recently and indeed he made some startling revelations. For example, he told that Sridevi, the famous actress and his second wife, used to starve in order to look good and because of that, she used to have blackouts and had the problem of low blood pressure.
Boney Kapoor also broke silence on his professional failures and how he had to sell his possessions in order to repay the debt after his movies flopped.
The 1993-released movie “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” which starred Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Anupam Kher in important roles was one of the most expensive movies of that time and after it flopped, Boney faced very difficult times. In those times, movies were made in the budget of maximum Rs. 2-3 crores but Boney invested an amount of Rs. 9 crores in the movie. He had taken loans from the investors for this movie and after the film flopped, he was neck deep in debt.
Talking about those times, Boney Kapoor stated that he got full support from his first wife Mona Shourie and his brothers Anil Kapoor and Sanjay kapoor. Boney Kapoor said that Mona walked barefoot to Siddhivinayak temple for praying for him. He added that he lost not only his own money but also the money which he borrowed from others.
Boney Kapoor also says that it has been his hallmark that he always responded to people whether he owes them money or he doesn’t know them.
Boney Kapoor and Sridevi got married in 1997 publicly but they got married secretly in June 1996.
