At last, “Raees”, one of the most awaited movies of 2017 got released on 25th January and as it is a Shah Rukh Khan starrer, it was expected to perform well on the box-office, which it did, undoubtedly.
The trade experts were speculating that the film will make an opening of Rs. 20 crore as Republic Day was a holiday but “Raees” surprised everyone and made an opening of Rs. 26.30 crore which is definitely a huge one.
The flick has also made a record of being the highest grosser on the Republic Day as it left behind Salman’s “Jai Ho” which earned Rs. 26.25 in the year 2014.
Bollywood trade analyst, Taran Adarsh shared the information regarding earnings of Raees, “#Raees is PHENOMENAL on Day 2. All set to pack a FAB total in its 5-day weekend. Wed 20.42 cr, Thu 26.30 cr. Total: ₹ 46.72 cr. India biz.”

However, we should not forget that Hrithik Roshan starrer “Kaabil” is also standing tall which has not only made a good start at the box-office but the public is all praise for the actors for their superb performance too. “Kaabil” opened with Rs. 18 crore on the same day as “Raees” and this is definitely a good amount considering the fact that it clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s flick.
The way they both are going, it seems that both are going to earn good but as of now, the situation indicates that “Raees” will be a winner of the two.
