The Christmas of 2016 brought a bad news for the fans of Pop singer George Michael, as the singer passed away yesterday at the age of 53. As per the family, George died peacefully at his home while the police have not indicated that they are suspicious of any foul play but according to them, his death is unexplained. As stated by George’s manager, the legendary singer died due to heart failure.
A statement was released by Michael’s publicist and it read,
“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period. The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”
George Michael was not only loved for his music but was also an ideal for LGBTQ community. He was someone whom the gay community followed and that too in 1980s, when the society was not so liberal and accepting towards them.
George started his career with the group Wham in 1980 but later on, he began to perform solo.
Twitter flooded with messages and people expressed their grief and sorrow, mourning the demise of an exceptional soul. Celebrities also took to Twitter to express their dismay along with the fans of George.
A mine of talent:
I pray George Michael finally finds peace. A deeply private man with an awe-inspiring talent that couldn't help but make him a superstar.
