We have many times heard that marriages are broken on the grounds that the groom’s side has demanded dowry and their wish list was a never ending one. One of the reasons of decreasing ratio of girls in the population of India is dowry, as poor parents find it difficult to spend so much in their daughter’s marriage.
What we call dowry in lower and middle classes, it is being called as gifts in the high class society. Highly expensive items are being given to the groom side in the name of gifts, but in this wedding, all the limits have been crossed as not only the groom and his parents but also their relatives were given costly items.
In Pune, Businessman Baburao Waikar’s son Akshay got married to Aishwariya, daughter of well-known builder Gulab Walhekar in which the groom side was gifted with One Audi, One Fortuner and 12 Bullet motorcycles. Groom’s aunt was also presented Honda Activa.
Famous personalities from business and politics attended the marriage in which a huge palace was being built using tent; more than 100 dishes were cooked for the guests.
After photos of the marriage went viral on the internet, the bride’s father denied gifting cars and bikes and he said that these cars were purchased by the groom’s side and they just wanted to show them in the marriage.
