Pahlaj Nihalani has got a perfect tag of being a “Sanskari” CBFC chief. In last 2.5 years, Nihalani has surprised everyone with his censoring films and suggesting innumerable cuts.
He has taken this position on 19th of January 2015 and since then, he has been controversy’s favorite child. Even few days back, he created an issue over the word “Intercourse” in SRK and Anushka starrer “Jab Harry Met Sejal”.
Many filmmakers hate him because he doesn’t give space for any unwanted scenes. Time and again, he has been criticized for his decisions; however, there are fresh reports that say that Pahlaj Nihalani is on the verge of losing his job.
A CBFC meeting will be held on the 28th of July in Thiruvanthapuram; according to sources of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it is said that Nihalani might be asked to quit.
Reports also state that a film personality might replace him. Some possible contenders for his position are actor Chandraprakash Diwedi, Madhur Bhandarkar and Prakash Jha.
As of now, Pahlaj Nihalani has not reacted to this decision; very soon, we will update you about the development.
If he is replaced, it would be a sigh of relief for some filmmakers who are insecure about their movies not being passed by the Board.
