The whole nation is mourning the death of legendary veteran actress Sridevi but it’s extremely shameful that some news channels are using this unfortunate incident as an opportunity to increase their TRPs.
Such channels have no shame in sensationalising the news and their reporting went so low that #NewskiMaut started trending on Twitter. Under this hashtag, people including some celebrities were expressing their anguish over the manner in which the death of Sridevi is being reported and how insensitively the things are being discussed.

On the other hand, the Indian ambassador to UAE Navdeep Suri has also requested media houses to show some restraint while covering the news.
In a couple of tweets, he wrote,
“The media interest in untimely demise of #Sridevi is understandable. But the frenzy of speculation does not help. Imp to note that:
1. We are working with local authorities to ensure that mortal remains can be sent to India at the earliest. We are on the job.
2. We are in regular contact with the family of #Sridevi and other well- wishers. We share their pain.
3. Our experience in similar cases tells us that it does take 2-3 days to complete processes
4. We leave it to the experts to determine cause of demise

Earlier it was told that Sridevi died due to heart attack but later on, the post mortem report suggested that there were traces of alcohol in her body. She lost her balance, fell into bathtub and got drowned accidentally. Since then, many rumours are doing rounds and now it is being said that Boney Kapoor may be asked to stay in Dubai while the ministry can send the mortal remains of Sridevi.
We also feel that media should show some decency in reporting on this sensitive matter. What do you say?
