The ‘sorry’ song from the album ‘Bombay Blues’ created a huge sensation as it gets order from censor board to beep out the word Bombay form the song to which Mihir Joshi says that his track that is written on the aftermath of the brutal gang rape in Delhi. The song seeks to emphasize on the fact that girls in his country is not all safe anymore. The worth of the song even gets intensified as it shows how the fathers feel when they sense that their daughter’s dignity is in question. As the censor board ordered him to crop out the word Bombay he says “I am a Maharashtrian and better understand the difference between Bombay and Mumbai. I very much get what Bombay and Mumbai mean.” The song is a strong response to the inhuman activity not only that happened in Delhi but to violence against women all over the world.
The words of the song go like this: ‘I am sorry sweetheart …this is the world I am giving you today. It is the same thing no matter what you read… from Delhi to Bombay. I wish it was different darling…wish you could feel nice and safe. But the world’s gone crazy; I don’t know what to say’. The singer commented that this a heart touching song that is basically a conversation between a father and his daughter that moved him to write the Delhi rape case in December 2012,”
