Rajasthan Royals, the finalists of the IPL 2022 are doing pretty well in the IPL 2023 too as they are on the second spot in the points table with 4 wins in their 7 matches. Sanju Samson has been leading the team in a good manner and recently the Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who has been with RR since 2022 gave an interview in which he praised Sanju Samson and also compared him with the legendary former skipper of the Indian cricket team.
Yuzvendra Chahal was an integral part of Royal Challengers Bangalore from the year 2014 till 2021 but before the mega-auctions, the franchise chose to release him and he was bought by RR for a price of Rs. 6.5 crore. This deal proved to be a good one for RR as in the IPL 2022, Yuzi took 27 wickets in 16 matches and played a vital role in taking his team in the finals of the tournament which they lost to Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans.
Talking about the skippers under whom he has played, Yuzvendra Chahal states that all the three captains (MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma) under whom he has played have given him the freedom which a bowler needs.
Yuzi says that as far as the IPL is concerned, Sanju Samson is his favourite and he feels that Samson is quite similar to MS Dhoni as he is calm and chill person. Yuzi also gives credit to Sanju Samson for the 10% or whatever growth he has experienced as a bowler in the last year. Chahal adds that Sanju has told him he is free from his side, he has four overs and he can bowl whatever he wants to.

I don’t see any growth to be honest. I have only seen downfall in Chahal’s career. This year he may be taking wickets but the impact is not there the way he used to dominate. He was one spinner who used to bowl well even in Chinnaswami.
