The Asia Cup 2023 is going to start in a week and the Board of Control for Cricket in India has also announced the squad for the upcoming event. Though the comeback of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah will make India a strong side, the omission of Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has left many fans and former cricketers upset.
If we look at the performance of Yuzi in recent times then since 2021, he has played 18 matches in which he has taken 29 wickets that include three four wicket hauls. However even after performing well, Yuzvendra Chahal was not included in the team and when the chief selector Ajit Agarkar was asked about Yuzi’s omission during the press conference, he said that there was scope for only one primary spin-bowler in the team after including Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav was preferred over Yuzvendra Chahal because of his batting abilities.
However, many former cricketers such as Sourav Ganguly, Madan Lal, Irfan Pathan, etc. have said that they would have definitely included Yuzvendra Chahal in their squad.
There is no denying the fact that Yuzi who likes to keep everyone happy around him was highly disappointed with this snub but still he made a positive post on X (formerly Twitter). Yuzi’s post signifies that the sun will surely rise soon, something similar to what Rohit Sharma posted when he was dropped from the team.

But Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree was in no mood to hide her disappointment and she took to Instagram stories and posted, “Now I have started to question this on a serious note. If being super submissive & introvert can be harmful for your work growth? Or do we all have to be an extrovert & street smart savvy to grow in life?”
Check out the post made by Dhanashree:
During the press conference, chief selector Ajit Agarkar also said that Ravichandran Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal still have a chance to play the World Cup as they haven’t finalised the WC squad.
