Irrfan Khan, the late Bollywood actor, will always remain in our hearts as he entertained us for so many years and most of the times, his characters felt related to us. The “Maqbool” star was certainly one of the best actors of all times and enjoyed a huge fan base which included not only Indians but the global movie lovers as well. Irrfan worked in many Hollywood movies but he was not able to work in the Hollywood sci-fi flick “Interstellar” which was directed by Christopher Nolan who is counted among the best movie directors.

In an interview, Irrfan revealed why he refused to work in “Interstellar”, he told that the team of the movie demanded a very big commitment from him which was to stay in USA for a period of four months and that was not possible for Irrfan.

The “English Medium” actor tried to convince them that he would adjust his schedule and work by shuttling between USA and India as he won’t be able to stay for such a long time period in USA. He needed to be in India for two of his movies, “The Lunchbox” and “D-Day”. Nevertheless, the suggestion was not accepted by the “Interstellar” team and Irrfan had to refuse. The “Paan Singh Tomar” actor added that he was not that type of person who would regret anything but as it was Christopher Nolan’s movie, it was amongst the most difficult decisions that he took in his life.

Recently, Christopher Nolan also talked about being not able to work with Irrfan Khan. He said that he met Irrfan for “Interstellar” and was interested in working with him. The director further added that it was really unfortunate that he couldn’t work with Irrfan as he was a great actor.

The star cast of “Interstellar” included Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway and the flick was a big hit on the box-office. Presently, Christopher Nolan directed “Tenet”, a spy thriller is being shown in the Indian cinema halls and the veteran Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia has worked in this movie. “Tenet” star cast includes John David Washington and Robert Pattinson and the flick has been praised by the critics as well.

Irrfan suffered from a prolonged illness but he kept on working till the last breath as “Angrezi Medium” was his last movie which was released on the digital platform as the cinema halls were closed to due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Irrfan will always be missed!
