Cleaner Once Mocked For Gold Now Received Free Gold, iPhone & Other Gifts! Hail Humanity!

2016 is going to end but Nazer al-Islam Abdul Karim (65) will always remember this year as perhaps the best year of his life. Karim, who is a Bangladeshi, works as a cleaner in Saudi Arabia but at present, he is the center of attraction on the Internet and many people are sending him gifts which include return tickets to his native place, two smartphones – a Samsung Galaxy and an iPhone, bags of honey and rice and cash too. And there seems to be no end of gifts for him.

This all started when somebody clicked the image of Karim, without his knowledge, when he was looking thoughtfully into the window of a jewellery shop and posted it on Instagram with the caption, “This man deserves to only look at rubbish”.

Some netizens joined the bandwagon and ridiculed the Bangladeshi cleaner but it angered many others and one of them was Abdullah Al-Qahtani who is available on Twitter by handle name Ensaneyat (humanitarianism in Arabic).

He shared Karim’s image and asked others to find him out. Karim was identified as his picture was shared extensively by netizens and the image of the shop reflected in the window also helped in finding out Karim’s location.

Karim was absolutely ignorant of the manhunt carried out in his search but he was surprised and happy when he started getting the gifts.

Karim told CNN,

“I was just doing my job as a cleaner in the municipality and found myself in front of the gold shop. I am very happy about the gifts and very thankful.”

Al-Qahtani (38) told that people are still sending gifts and cash to Karim. Not only this, Karim was given a chance to select his own set of gold chains and earrings.

Karim’s photo with his gifts was posted on Twitter by Al-Qahtani. While talking to CNN, Karim also praised the strangers for making efforts to find him and showing kindness towards him.

Instances like this strengthen our faith and make us believe that humanity is still alive.
