“Coffin Cubicles” In Hong-Kong Are No Less Than Death Traps! See How People Are Living!

Hong Kong might be counted among the richest cities in Asia, but let us tell you that the living conditions there are really poor. No matter how many expensive mansions of Hong Kong you must have seen on the web or on TV, the reality there is something else. Wealthy people can afford to live in good and furnished houses, but the poorest have to live in spaces that are no less than “Coffins”.

Hong Kong has a population of around 7.5 million and also, there’s no developable land remaining. So where do so many people stay? Well, they stay in “Coffin cubicles”, a concept that will give you tears. The rooms are very tiny and everything right from cooking, sleeping to entertainment has to be carried out here. Here’s how they look from outside;

The room measures just 6 x 2.5 feet and it is no less than a cage. Basically, for creating these cubicles, the developers illegally divide a 400 sq flat and accommodate around 20 beds. The rent of each cubicle is around Rs 15,000 per month. People have no option but to stay here; however, the living conditions are horrible.

A photographer captured some pictures of these cubicles and the results were horrific. Have a look at some pictures;

What do you have to say about this?
