Your curiosity intensifies to a large extent after seeing a man in the white dress of a chauffeur sitting on the car’s back seat while the door is being held for him.
Hold your horses of brain; there’s nothing fishy but a very touchy farewell which might make anyone emotional! Yes, you read it right! It was the last day of 58 years old Digambar Thak at work and on the day of his retirement, G Sreekanth, Digambar’s boss who also happens to be Akola’s collector, made up mind of giving his chauffeur an extraordinary gift of farewell that he would not forget for the rest of his life. He drove him to work and then a farewell ceremony was held in the office itself. In the words of G Sreekanth,
“For close to 35 years, he’s helped the state with his service, ensuring that collectors get to their workplace safely, day after day. I wanted to make this a day to remember for him and also to say thank you for what he’s done.”
Digambar has driven Akola’s 18 collectors so far and how amazing it would have felt to have been driven at work by a collector himself!! There couldn’t be a better farewell gift, could there be?
