Couldn’t Afford To Pay Her Cook Once, She Now Owns A Multi-Crore Brand & Stars On Netflix

Not every star kid grows up with an easy life. For Masaba Gupta, childhood came with its own set of challenges. Born to actor Neena Gupta and legendary West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards, Masaba grew up longing for her father while being raised by a single mother. At a time when society was less accepting, being born out of wedlock brought constant gossip and judgment.

Then came the year 2020. The pandemic hit businesses hard and House of Masaba was no exception. Investors warned her that the brand had barely three months left. She was told it would shut down by July 2020. Stores were closed, employees had to be let go and financial support was pulled back. At her lowest point, Masaba didn’t even have ₹12,000 to pay her cook. With only ₹2 lakh left, she cut losses, started making masks and held on with determination.
