The Holi celebrations turned into tragedy for a family in Ghaziabad after a couple was found dead in their bathroom. They both were lying naked and blood pressure tablet strips was found near them. Police has no clue regarding their demise as the post-mortem report has stated the reason of death is “uncertain”.
We are talking about Neeraj Singhania (38) and Ruchi (35); the former was DGM with Matrix Cellular (International) Services Limited while the latter was also employed with US-based IT firm in Noida.
The couple lived in a 3 BHK flat in Indirapuram’s Gyan Khand-1 with their five years old daughter, Neeraj’s parents, brother and sister.
As per the police, the couple celebrated Holi till 6pm on the roof of their flat but when family members knocked on their door at 9:30pm, the door was not opened. Neeraj’s brother saw his sister-in-law’s leg coming out of the bathroom when he managed to see inside the slit in the window. The family members broke the door as they were sure of some mishap.
Rakesh Kumar Mishra, the circle officer of Indirapuram, told,
“They found the couple lying on the floor of the bathroom without any clothes. An ambulance was called and they were rushed to a private hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. Their bodies, however, did not have any injury marks.”
He further added,
“Ruchi’s parents, too, had come from Vaishali to celebrate Holi in the Indirapuram flat. The birthday of Neeraj’s father Prem Prakash Singhania and the marriage anniversary of his parents-in-law fall on March 2. The family had gathered to celebrate the occasion.”
The police also said that the family started celebrating from early morning as a roof-top party was organised in which relatives and neighbours were invited.
One of the neighbours Abhishek Das told,
“Around 9.45pm, I saw an ambulance parked in front of our building. I rushed downstairs and saw Neeraj being taken on the stretcher and paramedics giving CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to Ruchi. I heard a doctor tell the family that the two were already dead and it was up to them to take them to the hospital. Neeraj’s family decided to go to the hospital.”
The private hospital where Neeraj and Ruchi were taken informed the police around 10pm. The SHO of Indirapuram Sachin Malik said,
“Their viscera have been preserved for now and will be sent for forensic tests in Agra.”
Neeraj and Ruchi got married in 2010 and the Singhania family shifted to Ghaziabad from Bareilly long ago.
