Cricket Australia Heavily Slammed For Posting Old Video Of India’s 36 All-Out Ahead Of BGT

The Australian team is practicing pretty hard in Bengaluru as it will be facing India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 which is starting from 9 Feb 2023. Though the Aussies are at the first position in the World Test Championship 2021-23, still this series holds a lot of importance for them as Steve Smith recently said that winning in India is even bigger than the Ashes.

There are few reasons because of which the Australians will like to win the BGT 2023. Firstly, Australia has been on the losing side for the last 3 times and secondly, it has not won a series in India in the last 19 years. Last time the Aussies won BGT was in 2014-15 when they were the hosts, after that India hosted test series in 2016-17 and won the series by 2-1. In 2018-19 and 2020-21, Australia lost the series despite being the host of the series and now it is in India with a dream of defeating India and it will be very tough for the team to fulfill this dream.

Recently, the Cricket Australia posted a video in order to boost the courage of its cricketers but it was slammed by the Indian cricket fans mercilessly. The video posted by the Cricket Australia was from the Adelaide test match (2020-21), it was the first test match of the series and this video shows the dismissal of Indian batters in the first innings of the test match. It was a nightmare for the Indian squad as it got all out at the score of 36 in the first innings which is the team’s lowest total ever.

India lost the Adelaide test match by 8 wickets and everyone was quite sure that Australia would easily whitewash the 4-match series as the then skipper Virat Kohli also returned to India for the birth of his and Anushka Sharma’s first baby.

Nevertheless, the Indian side had other plans and in this critical situation, Ajinkya Rahane led the team in the best possible manner. The team India sprung a surprise for the Aussies by defeating them in the Melbourne test and by drawing the Sydney test, thanks to the heroics of Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin. The series got leveled at 1-1, the fourth test match was at Gabba and the Aussies were quite sure of winning it as they had a record of being invincible at Gabba for 33 years. Winning Gabba seemed to be tough for the Indians as many senior players were injured and they had to field a relatively less experienced side.

However, things didn’t go as per the plans of the Australian side and the young team led by Ajinkya Rahane not only defeated the Aussies but also broke their 33 years old record of being invincible at Gabba.

The Cricket Australia’s video got a strong response from Indian fans as they reminded the Australian authority that India still won that series and they also talked about what happened in Gabba.

Here is the video which was posted by the Cricket Australia:
