According to reports, a teenage cricketer was allegedly killed on Thursday in Bangladesh by a stump-wielding batsman after the former taunted the umpire, in relation to a no-ball delivery. Babul Shikdar, the 16 year old, was wicket keeping in a neighborhood match with friends on Wednesday in Dhaka, when that batsman was declared out.
Shikdar thought that the umpire would again give the decision in favor of the batsman and would declare the delivery of the bowler as a no-ball, as he done earlier. Babul taunted the umpire because he had given the same decision off the previous ball. Bhuiyan Mahboob Hasan, the local police chief stated that “It enraged the batsman who picked up a stump and hit Shikdar on the back of his head. He collapsed on the field and died on the way to a clinic”.
Now, the police are in search of the batsman who has fled.
