In these times, almost every country of the world has imposed lockdown in order to save their citizens from the lethal virus and this has resulted in a surge in the online activities of common public as well as the sportspersons.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portugal football team skipper who also plays for the Juventus club has managed to remain on the top in the list of Instagram’s highest paid athletes. A research report which has been published by Attain reveals that Cristiano Ronaldo earned £1,888,336 (Rs 17,96,10,995) through the sponsored posts made by him on Instagram during the period between March 12, 2020 and May 4, 2020.

Ronaldo’s arch rival – Argentine footballer and Barcelona star Lionel Messi is on the second spot with the earnings of £1,299,373 (Rs 123,59,1,086) through the sponsored posts. The third spot was again secured by a footballer as the Brazilian footballer and Paris Saint-Germain Neymar Jr. fetched £1,192,211 (Rs 11,33,98,359) in this lockdown period.

Shaquille O’Neal, the basketball player, also earned a handsome amount of £583,628 (Rs 5,55,12,369.66) for the 16 sponsored posts that he made during the lockdown.

The Indian cricket team skipper and one of the greatest batsmen of the world, Virat Kohli has also appeared on the list of the Instagram highest paid athlete at the sixth spot as he earned £379,294 (Rs 3,60,76,933). Virat made only 3 sponsored posts during the lockdown for which he earned such a good amount.

Well, there is no denying the fact that wealth pulls more wealth as we can see that the athletes who are already so rich are earning good even when the whole world has been brought to a standstill by the coronavirus pandemic.
