Why Cheat India released yesterday, and it was a film we had really been looking forward to. The film which has been directed by Soumik Sen stars Emraan Hashmi in the leading role.
The film attacks the corrupt education system which is prevalent in our country, forcing students all over India to resort to cheating to pass.
Our students are forced to mug up answers in order to score decent marks in the exam, which automatically compromises their learning capabilities.
However, despite the promising theme and the potential shown by Hashmi in the trailer, the film has failed to make a significant mark at the box office.
It had been expected that the film would make at least 3 to 4 crores at the box office on the opening day, but that clearly did not happen.
On the opening day, the film made only 1.71 crores. The numbers are really disappointing and it is feared that the film may be a flop.
The film would need to make up for it over the weekend and earn at least 5 to 7 crores over the two days if there is to be any hope for salvation.
