Considering the success of 2008 movie “Rock On”, everyone expected its 2nd installment “Rock On 2” to be a super-duper hit. Unfortunately, luck didn’t favor the makers and it proved to be a flop on the first day of release.
Yes, this Shraddha Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar starrer opened to an average 7% occupancy in single screens and 10% occupancy in multiplexes. Let us see what the first day collections of “Rock On 2” have to say;

The movie could earn just 2.02 crores on the 1st day, which is very disheartening. Well, there were many factors that were responsible for hampering the numbers. Firstly, the music of Rock 2 On failed to woo the audience and hence, there was negative word-of-mouth.
Secondly, Modi government’s ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes has had a major effect on the collections of the movie. Single-screen theaters suffered a lot because they don’t have the facility of online booking and people didn’t have sufficient cash for watching the movie; hence, they preferred not to watch.
However, producer Ritesh Sidhwani already had a doubt in his mind that the move might affect the collections. He thought of pushing the release date, but it was already very late. Let us see what the weekend collections have to say! Now that the banks are open, collections might increase, what do you think?
