Though this tour has turned to be fruitful for South Africa on the field it may not be as fruitful to it’s skipper. Yes you all got it right. AB de Villiers is in trouble. Shocked?
ESPNcricinfo has not so good information for the de Villiers fans. If latest reports are to be agreed then the man of the match, AB de Villiers is in trouble having been imposed with a fine of 40% of his match fees for maintaining a slow over rate at Green Park, Kanpur. His team mates also had to face the heat of the board and have been fined with 20% match fees. The charge for offences was laid down by on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Vineet Kulkarni, TV umpire Chettithody Shamshuddin along with Anil Dandekar who was the reserve umpire. The fine was imposed by Chris Board, Match Refree. They have not suspended him yet but this slow over rate could lead to 1 match suspension.
De Villiers has been suspended for one match against Bangladesh on being found guilty for over rate disparity in just 12 months. If De Villiers again commits the fault of over rate disparity in next 12 month he will again have to face suspension. This is good news for Indian cricket fans but really bad news for true Cricket fans because we will not be able to see the tough competition from South African team. All the best AB de Villiers.
