Produced by Gauri Khan and Karan Johar and directed by Gauri Shinde of “English Vinglish” fame, the flick explains in a very simple manner that the happiness of life is hidden in small moments, so just explore them. If you are considering it as a film of SRK, then you are a little wrong since it is a very simple story to two people, what they go through and how they manage themselves.

Alia plays the role of Kaira who wants to establish herself as a cinematographer. She leads a happy and colorful life, and her beautiful and loving family supports her. Nevertheless, her life takes a downturn when she goes into depression after a breakup.

Here, SRK makes an entry as a psychological doctor, Dr. Jehangir Khan, who likes to be called Jug. He doesn’t take the help of medicines to treat Kaira but on the contrary, treats her with lessons of life. He teaches her a new meaning of life and she learns to see beauty in imperfection; nevertheless, he leaves after making her a lively person again.

The performance of Alia is superb but the heart of the movie is SRK. Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Angad Bedi are also good in supporting roles. Gauri Shinde, the director of the movie, deserves special appreciation as the film has not lost its purpose and never diverted from its original path. It’s not easy to make such a simple yet beautiful movie in the times of masala movies.

Cinematography is just awesome, as it will mesmerize you with some exquisite natural shots and watching them on big screen is definitely a treat to eyes.

The movie is releasing in very less screens compared to other releases of SRK; however, as we know that word of mouth plays a very strong role, it would definitely drag more and more audience to theaters!!

“Dear Zindagi” gives you many reasons to watch the movie, so guys book your ticket now before it gets housefull.
