Recently, we saw Debina Bonnerjee, the actress who essayed the role of Sita in Ramayana, joining Kapil’s show as the wife of Kiku Sharda. Now, there are reports of another actress joining the team. Can you guess who it is? Well, it is Kanika Maheshwari, the actress who essays the character of Meenakshi Bhabhi in ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’.
Reports say that Kanika Maheshwari would be playing the role of S3xy Bhabhi in the show and the shooting is expected to start soon. Earlier, this role was offered to Shilpa Shinde, but owing to her tiff with ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ producers with regards to her contract clauses, she couldn’t join.
Kanika perfectly fitted the role and hence, she was taken on board. Basically, this show is gaining a lot of popularity and so, makers are roping in new characters.
This news was confirmed by Kanika as well. There were reports of Kanika saying “It’s going to be a very good role. I can’t talk much about the character since the details are still being worked out.”
She also talked about rumors of ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ going off air. As per reports, Kanika stated
“There are rumours about DABH going off air. The producers haven’t told us anything. The show has its audience. When the news about it going off air came out, we were bombarded with messages on social media from fans asking for the show to continue.”
