Monday morning brought a smooth and time-saving ride for the Delhites as the Odd-Even rule seems to do wonders for Delhi. The Odd-Even formula is being implemented from January 1 to January 15; the pollution levels may have not come down as expected but the smooth traffic has definitely brought a smile on the faces of people.
The Delhi government implemented this formula after the level of pollution in the city reached to such an alarming level that the court compared Delhi to a “gas chamber”.
Delhi’s Chief Minister set an example by car-pooling with transport minister Gopal Rai in his Tata Nano; Home minister Satyendra Jain also joined them in it.
Nearly 5500 buses have been brought on streets of Delhi to provide commuters transport facility and metro will also transport 32 lakh commuters instead of 26 lakh commuters daily.
