Developing Nations Should Say NO To Internet.org, Says Inventor Of World Wide Web

Tim Berners-Lee, the man who is the inventor of World Wide Web has warned the developing nations against Facebook’s ambitious project Internet.org.

Tim, the computer scientist from England was giving a speech at Web We Want Festival in London’s Southbank Centre and he was talking and showing his worries about the UK government’s plans of re-introducing modified version of “snooper’s charter”, which will make the law imposing agencies more powerful as to invade the privacy of UK citizens and spy on them.

Tim invented the “WWW” in 1989, so if he says something about internet then you have to take it seriously. Tim has a message or rather countries like India should take it as a warning, he said that any efforts to provide better internet access by providing them in a lower or cut-down version of the web should be denied straightaway. Facebook’s Internet.org is an example of such an effort. He said, “Users should “just say no” to such proposals.”
