“Dhadak”, the debut movie of Boney Kapoor and late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor, hit theatres on Friday with great opening. Despite the fact that it starred newcomers, the flick successfully managed to draw audience to cinema halls and earned a whopping sum of Rs 8.71 crore on its first day.
This is indeed a good amount and with such good opening, Janhvi has beaten Alia whose debut movie “Student Of The Year” collected Rs 8 crore on the first day.
Talking about Dhadak’s second day earnings, an enormous growth of 26.75% is seen in terms of collections as the flick minted Rs 11.04 crore on Saturday, totaling the amount to Rs 19.75 crore so far.
Day 1 – Rs 8.71 crore
Day 2 – Rs 11.04 crore
Total – Rs 19.75 crore
The figures are expected to be higher on Sunday and trade analysts are expecting it to cross Rs 30 crore. If it happens, it will be outstanding on the part of Janhvi and Ishaan as newcomers’ movies hardly get such a good response.

Well, there are some reasons that made “Dhadak” one of the most anticipated movies of the year; firstly it’s the Hindi remake of Marathi superhit movie “Sairat”, secondly it has been made under the banner of Dharma Productions and thirdly it’s the debut movie of the daughter of Sridevi who had been counted among the most iconic and legendary actresses of all time.
It will be interesting to see how “Dhadak” performs in the first weekend.
