The entertainment industry often finds itself caught between real experiences and distorted online narratives and sometimes, a small misunderstanding can grow into a much bigger storm. This is what seems to have happened in the recent controversy involving actor Dhanush’s manager Sreyas and television actress Manya Anand.

Sreyas finally addressed the situation after allegations surfaced claiming he had asked Manya for inappropriate “commitment” in the name of a film connected to Dhanush. In a detailed post on his official X account, he said the phone number used to contact Manya was not his and insisted that someone was impersonating him. He repeated what he had already stated earlier — that any casting calls or offers made using his name or the name of Wunderbar Films were completely false and should not be trusted.

Manya Anand also stepped forward to share her side, explaining that her interview was taken out of context. According to her, she had simply mentioned that an unknown person contacted her, claiming to be from Dhanush’s team, and she could not confirm whether that person was real or fake. Manya Anand said that her intention was to warn others about such calls and highlight that Dhanush’s name might be getting misused. Instead, her video was edited and circulated in a way that made it look like she was directly accusing Sreyas, something she says she never intended.
Manya Anand expressed distress over how the situation had spiralled, saying she felt hurt that her comments were being twisted to tarnish someone else’s reputation. As per her, some online channels used the altered video to gain views, turning an awareness message into an accusation.

Despite this clarification, earlier interviews showed Manya Anand describing ongoing pressure from someone claiming to be Sreyas. She spoke about receiving messages, suggesting she needed to offer “adjustment” to be considered for a project linked to Dhanush. She recalled questioning what that “commitment” meant and rejecting the idea entirely but the person she was speaking to continued to push her, even invoking Dhanush’s name.
With both the sides now explaining their version of events, the controversy highlights a troubling reality of the digital era, how easily identities can be faked, how quickly content can be distorted and how fast misinformation can spread.
