However, what made MS Dhoni more special is the fact that he was suffering from a knee injury throughout the IPL 2023 and even when he was in pain, he took some wonderful decisions that helped his team win matches and the IPL as well. MS Dhoni having trouble could be understood by the fact that sometimes he was seen limping and Mahi who is known for his fast running between the wickets showed reluctance in taking doubles.

As per the latest reports, after the IPL 2023 got over, MS Dhoni came to Mumbai where he met the famous sports orthopaedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala at Kokilaben hospital and underwent knee surgery recently. The surgery was successful and now Dhoni has returned to Ranchi. As per a source, MSD will be taking rest for some days after which his rehabilitation program will start and hopefully he will be fit to play before the IPL 2024.

The former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has reacted on the news of Dhoni’s knee surgery and he praised Dhoni for playing like a warrior as he never let the pain come in between the clarity of thoughts. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan tweeted, “MS Dhoni went through a knee surgery today, it was successful. True Leader, playing with one leg. No pain no gain. The agonising pain did not affect his clarity of thoughts. Amazing how he was able to lead a side with so much pain. His mindset is of a warrior. Champion for life” with two heart emojis.

If you remember, MS Dhoni has said that he will try to come back and play one more season of the IPL as a gift for his fans who have given him love and affection but he also adds that a lot depends on the body as well. Hopefully he will be fine soon!
