There has been a hike in the charge of Tatkal Railway ticket which is going to be applied from December 25 and the purpose of the same is improving income earned from passengers.
As per notification of the Railway, passengers will have to disburse Rs 200 in place of Rs 175 to book Tatkal tickets of Sleeper, whereas Rs 400 is the max revised price of AC-3 which was previous Rs 350, minimum amount being increased to Rs 300 in place of Rs 250.
The minimum charge of Tatkal ticket for Sleeper is hiked to Rs 100 which earlier had been Rs 90. What’s more, max and min charge will rely on the distance of the travel. There has been more hike for Tatkal AC class; however, no change is made on charges of Second Class. For AC-2, passengers will be paying minimum Rs 400 in place of Rs 300 and maximum Rs 500 instead of Rs 400. Second Class Tatkal charges are the same Rs 10 for min and Rs 15 for max, as per distance, without any modification. Additionally, for adjusting new fares, Railways would change their software in accordance with CRIS.
