Dinesh Karthik Lauds Rohit Sharma & Rahul Dravid, Talks About India’s Sturdy Bench Strength

The Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik is going through a great phase as far as his career is concerned. After performing superbly in the IPL 2022, he has definitely justified the faith of his captain and coach after getting selected in the Indian squad. It won’t be wrong to say that it would have been impossible for any other cricketer to make a comeback at the age of 37 in the present scenario when the management is not even thinking about the players who are touching the 30 yrs mark but DK made a grand return because of his sheer dedication and hard work.

Though questions are raised regarding the number of the chances that DK may get especially when Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are also in the team but the RCB cricketer is enjoying his stint in the Indian team to the fullest. There is no denying the fact that main reason behind Dinesh Karthik’s success in the recent times is the support that he is getting from coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma and the clarity that is prevalent in the current set-up.

While addressing the press conference before the 4th T20I against West Indies which is going to be played today at Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderhill, Florida, USA, Dinesh Karthik states that he has said earlier as well and he will say it again, this is one of the best team environments that he has been a part of, because of the continuity and consistency that the players are being provided. DK adds that the players are not judged on everyday basis and a player is given opportunity to fail before the management tries any other player.

Talking about the pressure to perform that he is facing, the wicketkeeper-batsman says that pressure is a privilege in such a scenario and a player playing at the highest level gets to experience it because something is expected from him and he is happy about it.

Dinesh Karthik who will be playing the remaining 2 T20Is against West Indies also states that he is very happy with the support which he is getting from the coach and the captain, adding that this is what he has aimed for the whole life. He goes on to say that Dravid and Rohit have shown a lot of faith in him and he should repay it with some great performances which will also help the team in winning matches.

Dinesh Karthik also talks about the strong bench strength of team India and says that as of now, the Indian team has the potential to make two or three playing elevens in regard to the number of players available and not many countries are in a position to do that.

The Indian Premier League has certainly churned out some really great talents who have helped the Indian team a lot in sending two teams to play international cricket on different tours at the same time. Some time back when the senior Indian team was in England for the rescheduled fifth test match, Hardik Pandya led a relatively less experienced team to Ireland. Earlier when the senior Indian team went to England for test series, Shikhar Dhawan led squad went to Sri Lanka for playing white ball cricket.

As far as the ongoing 5-match T20I series against West Indies is concerned, India is leading by 2-1 and it will try to win it by winning the fourth T20I. However, the hosts will also look forward to register a victory so that they can level the series and keep their chances of winning the series alive.

Will DK be a part of the Indian squad which will play in the T20 World Cup? What do you think? Do let us know.
