India had a sizzling victory over Bangladesh on 18th March after a critical situation. Just when all the Indian Cricket fans lost the hope of victory against Bangladesh, Dinesh Karthik arrived and brought the match back in hands.
In the last moments, he brought the smile back on the faces of Indian fans by showing highly aggressive innings.
In mere 8 balls he scored 29 runs out of which 2 were 4’s and 3 were 6’s. The strike rate was huge 362.5 and the way he made the team win, it made him a hero of the nation.
Soon after the match, there were comparisons being made between Karthik and Dhoni. People called him a great match finisher and claimed him to be better than Dhoni.
When Karthik was asked about the same, he gave a very humble reply-
“When it comes to Dhoni, I am studying in the university in which he is the topper.”
He further added-
“So, it is unfair for me to be compared with him. I’ve started my journey. It (final heroics) has given me a new wind of hope. His journey has been totally different. I’ve always been an understudy. I’ve always looked up to him. Today he is helping out the youngsters. The way he has gone on from strength to strength is for people to see and learn.”
