The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to disqualify Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the basis of the Mudgal Committee’s probe report on the IPL spot-fixing scam.
Supreme Court said that Chennai Super Kings should be ‘terminated without further inquiry‘ from the IPL tournament. SC said the difference between Srinivasan’s duty as president of the BCCI and his interest as an owner of an IPL team is, “obvious”
If there are so many anomalies, why can’t the BCCI act according its rules and disquaify CSK?” Isn’t it easier to disqualify?
The court also said that the “dual role” of MS Dhoni as the captain of CSK and vice president of India Cements is a matter of “concern.”
The court asked the details of the shareholding of suspended BCCI chief N. Srinivasan.
The Supreme Court has said that N. Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan’s role in IPL betting and spot-fixing scandal seemed like “insider trading”

The Supreme Court also said that those under investigation must be kept away from BCCI’s elections and suggested that Srinivasan could be barred from the polls.
